Isle of Wight Scooter Rally 2014

Anyone else going over this weekend?
Will be crossing from Portsmouth on Friday afternoon and staying in Sandown, travelling back on Monday morning and taking my series 3 Lambretta TV175.
Always a great mix of beer, music, scoots and sharp threads.
Shame Hipshaker are still missing, but will still be a great weekend with, hopefully, a spot of dry weather for the ride-out on Sunday...

Remember getting a few kicks up my backside at UP in about 81.... my Parka must of stood out like a target!! Agree re Grant F and co... we had a few faces around those days inbetween the bwain dead NF'ers in the West Side.... Sidney S has not got a scoob'....

I think you're right when see the old pics of the early eighties on scooters - lot of us had West ham scarfs or some adornment to the club. Hornchurch!

Thing is spandex you melt Westham has always been a Mod club.. What typifies the 60s better than the World Cup.. And even the Mod revival was has its roots at Upton Park... Grant Fleming and Goffa, maximum Speed. without it you would never had, had Casual.. Fleming even coined the term ICF.. Now if your a brave boy I'll be over Friday and perhaps we can discuss it face to face like real men...

You have a point there about this place, although I am an Upton Park boy, St Stephens Road me.
140,000 people on the Isle of Wight, just checked the phonebook, only 7 different surnames in it.
No chance with the birds here though, not when their dads all have 7 fingers on each hand! Can't compete with that!
